(No Title)

A session on Personality Development was held on the 3rd of March at Devagiri CMI Public School. The programme was guided by Dr. Mani Paul, a professional in the orientation process. The class was initially targeted for the class eleventh students; but the students of classes seventh till eleventh joined the session so that the benefits could be vast.
The session mainly focussed on the behavioural pattern of students. The main stress was on the ability to speak in public. Public speaking and communicating skill is something which every person has to master. But those are the areas where students usually fail due to lack of confidence or inner strength. Mani sir trained us on ways to conquer this fear. By the end of the session, students who were earlier reluctant to come up rose and shone* on the stage.
Another area which Mani sir touched upon was listening skill. Listening is something we find difficult to master. We may be hearing but not listening. In order to listen, we need our mind with us. Our physical, intellectual and spiritual sides need to be together if we wish to be a good listener. Only we can control our minds. So it is up to us to sharpen our listening skill.
Listening skill is an important factor in shaping a good student. It's with the ability to listen that the student learns the ability to recollect. Students who find it difficult to grasp information find it difficult to understand.
Education is something which we achieve for our betterment. Our education will benefit only us. So it's our duty to make use of the facilities provided and study with our heart. The disinterest towards studies can be reduced and then made invisible. It can be done by appealing to our conscience to control our unconcient* feeling of negatives, Studying depends on our mind's health. It can be made fun by a little effort.
All the different spheres can be conquered only if we have perfect understanding of oneself. Self-confidence and self-respect are the two main factors that shape an individual. If we know ourselves really well then another's opinion or comments will not affect us. As Sir quoted
'KNOW THY SELF'.

This session certainly helped the students to expand their horizons. The impossible transforming into possible was the main highlight of this session. The very trainer who educated us claimed that he was once a stranger to the stage. It's difficult to imagine him like that as now it seems as if he grew up on the stage!
In today's world, communicative skill is something which is inescapable. The session helped students not only in coping with the current situations, but also on handling their life; The only life they have to make it worthwhile.
