Team Spirit Story 1: Cricket

Students were given a task to complete a story on Team Spirit in their Value Education class. They were provided with a beginning and an ending. This story was completed by the Fantastic Five of Class VI:

Aisha Mohamed
Liya Siby
Harigovind
Abhishek N
Prayag C Madhusudanan

There's a boy named Sudheesh. He is very intelligent. He gets high marks in almost all exams and he completes his notes on time. But, he is a very unfriendly boy. He always engages in a fight with the other boys and does not cooperate with his classmates. He always wants to be the leader and will not accept the ideas of others.
So, one day something happened...

One day, the class teacher was electing a class leader. The nominees were Sudheesh, Raj, Deepu and some other friends. It was the voting time. As the teacher counted the votes, she noticed that Sudheesh didn't get any votes and Deepu had got the position. As the teacher announced the votes and the winner, Sudheesh got very sad. The others teased him. He understood that he didn't have any friends and should be more friendly and polite to others.
The next day, there was a physical education period. There was a cricket tryout for the inter-school cricket match. He was very good in cricket and got the selection. The team had to choose a team leader. The coach chose Sudheesh as a leader. Sudheesh was really proud and he accepted all of his friends' ideas. Everyone really got confused about his behaviour. Then, everyone started making friends with him. Sudheesh felt really happy and he never happened to be unfriendly again.

After the incident, Sudheesh became a good member of the team, a good team leader and finally a good friend to all.

That's the best out of my best!

       Class VII

I am a student of class VII and continue to progress like any other child of my age. I love to hang around my friends, chat with them, help them in the simplest way I can, tease them for fun, etc. I am quite studious when it comes to studies and pretty playful when it comes to fun.
This academic year 2010-2011 has given me more than I expected in every aspect. The best out of the bests is the tour; I went with my class. To be honest, it was the very best of the tours compared to others in the past. Everyone went totally crazy when it was announced in the class, most especially when the trip to Veegaland was declared.
The best place which we visited during the tour was Oberon Mall and the best time at the Mall was when we were in the 'Scary House'. It was the most memorable, fantastic, brilliant and excellent part of the tour!
Also, we had lots of masti in the bus, on the way to our destination and we rocked the ship during our cruise!
I have written only a quarter out of the whole experience. The experiences were quite endless to describe them.
I conclude with an expectation that the next academic year will present me awesome experiences to remember by.

PC Thomas at Thrissur: Experience of A Lifetime - 2nd part

Second Thread
 Day TWO
A loud ring of a bell woke me up. I woke up and hardly realised that I was in a dorm. Before I could even feel myself, a Christian prayer song began (not mentioning it much because I hated it like hell.) My eyes and body wouldn't allow me to wake up. Thanks to the hormones in my body which make cyclic schedules and now I was doing something really wild to my body. I checked my watch.  Oh, for the love of god! It was only 5.00 a.m. I checked out my friends. Goku was sitting on his bed and his face showed an expression from which I knew what would say. "WT #@&%!" (sorry for the bad words but what fun would it be without mentioning the exact words  used and that too in a hostel. I hope my readers will forgive me considering the situation)
To continue the story, Vishnu hadn't got up yet and every other fellow convicts were sitting on their bed and those at the nerd department already started bustling.. I asked Praveen, the boy whose bed was between Vishnu's and mine,  "What is this? It's our first day of class and we haven't even slept for seven hours.".Even before Praveen could react a harsh voice answered my question., "Son, this is not your home and there is no mommy around to wake you up at seven.". I was dumbstruck! But KV reacted. He saved me by making a harsh voice. to which the warden reacted with a wide gaze and left the scene. I looked back at KV and said., "Almost got me kicked out".. After fifteen minutes of silence Sibin said "It's only 5.30. What are we supposed to do and the mess hall will open only at 7.00 am. C'mon don't tell me we have to study?!!!". Nihal Maamu said, "Look around you. Don't you see those people studying? Come on, le'ts get ourselves ready."
Now I was really disappointed about my friend's reaction. I didnt want to bathe at 5.30 in the morning. I've never woke up at 5.30 except for the days when Sheela maam warned me that she would call home and I if wasn't the one who picked the phone...I had it. I had what...????? That was another unanswered question in my life...
We were sleeping on our study chair when the mess bell rang. Sibin got up and got us ready for food. God! If sibin was not there we would have missed our first food at PC's hostel.
We had dosa and what we later called "the crap curry." I had one and almost vomited. Rather, that was the case with everybody. Well after this, I felt that what I had done was a big mistake, that was, ruining my vacation for something like this. "God ! What have I done?!" It was KV who said something to encourage us. He said, "Well, if it takes this much to earn us a decent job, I'll take..it." That was some confidence booster! So, that day, we had our first class at pc-thomas.
At 7.30 am we went to our respective classes. There were many batches. Goku,  Aditya and myself were in one class because of our names. KV, Maamu, Sibin and Vishnu got their names together in one class. Then, I checked the arrangement. I had to sit with four Aswins in one bench. Goku had to sit with three Gokuls and Aditya with 4 Adityas. Boy! I didn't know my first name was this common. Our warden got the class exited with the OMR sheets and each of us got our file of handouts. The instructor entered the class and sat next to the blackboard like a bloated beetle, watching us settle down. Waiting for huddled murmurs to cease. He looked around forty years of age, with oily skin and with hair incandescent from three tablespoons of coconut oil. He wore an untucked  light blue shirt and black pants. He had two pens in his pocket and a pile of chalks near him.
"Welcome everyone. I am Anto, your physics teacher. So, first day of entrance huh?! Do you feel special?", he asked hiding his dirty grin. He had a dual tone and it was hard to make out what he spoke. Very good quality of a teacher, na?
Professor Anto noticed our bad response to his greeting and made his voice firm and said "Keep quiet! We are just starting our classes and you better not misbehave." That made even the hardest of hard children to weep in their minds. He took out a white coloured chalk and wrote on the board, "Units and measurements," he underlined it and turned towards the class,  "Units and measurements, the base of physics, every engineer's existence is based on this," He said and paused. "Now, can anyone tell me what a unit is? he asked, The class fell more silent. "Anyone?" he asked and "you?" Prof. Anto chose me as his first casualty.

This was not the first time this happened to me so I was really terrified.  "You. I'm talking to you," prof. clarified. The man inside me started working. I could have just said something like "it is a standard by which you measure physical quantities." Or, atleast a simple "I don't know, sir". But it was as if my mouth was  "AWOL". "Bad" Prof. Anto said and pointed to some random student. "You, the one in check shirt. Tell me." The guy was more terrified than me and just stood there. Prof. Anto, in seeing this, spoke. "See, the standard just keeps falling every year. Our admission criteria is just not strict enough." His disgust fell like spit on the check shirt. He made me sit. He said, "Anyway, the definition of the unit is simple. It is a standard by which you measure physical quantities." He spoke out the same words that were in my mind. I cursed myself for being such a loser. Anyway, the other Aswin near me said, " You better make an impression fast. Otherwise, you will be kicked out in any instant. So, I tried answering in class for his simple questions and I knew that he started liking me. After class, he smiled at me. Goku saw that. I told him, "Whew, just blowed that one!"
That ends my second thread. I have to tell you a lot of do's and dont's and our serious and dangerous adventures at pc-thomas thrissur.so dont forget post ur comments and encourage me for my next thread.

7th OUR TOUR TO COCHIN Feb 3rd n 4th

If I start about our 'Amazing' tour, I may never end. It was a 'UnFoRgEtAbLe' time for all of us!! I'll try to make this as short as possible. We started on Feb 3rd , Thursday at 5:30 in the morning in the morning in 2 buses. The girls of both 7A and B were in one bus with the boys of 7A, n the boys of 7B were in the other bus. Shija ma'am, Vijitha ma'am, Ravi Sir and Meena Ma'am were in our bus whereas Justin Sir and Pradeep sir were in the other bus. All the teachers were like different people for the tour. They were Awesome fun'. The morning drive was quite boring since most of us were drowsy from not sleeping the previous night coz of the excitement =D. We stopped at a restaurant for Breakfast, sat together n had puri n a yummy curry. It was fun!! Then It was back on the road with all of us watching 'Anwar', eating snacks n lazing around in the bus. After sm hours, we reached the 'Hill palace' where the Mal version of 'Bhool Bhulaya' was shot. Most of us din't enjoy that part coz it was hot n we were tired n there were too many steps and stones. Inside it was kinda boring n creepy. Back in the bus, we were all nursing our hurting legs n aching backs. Oh n, drinking LOTS of water. From there it was straight to the Cruise which we expected to be 'Reeeelaxing' but we didn't know wt was in store for us, until we finished 'Delicious Biriyani' n the music started. We started Burning up the dance floor. Every 1 danced, from the teachers to the shyest students. Vijitha ma'am and Shija ma'am were amazing. It was awesome. After 3 hours of dancing, singing n rocking fun, we got off the boat, Dead tired but all talking n laughing. Next it was straight to 'OBERON MALL' n we were separated into groups. But they lasted only till we got in the mall!!=D. 16 of us girls n guys headed straight for the SCARY MAZE which was said to be 'VERY SCARY' We got our tickets n got in waving bye to Pranav n Naila Who were too scared to come!! >D. The minute we got in, everything was dark n we started screaming!! (and giggling and clutching each other) Shahad was like our guide. (n the only one who wasn't screaming) n he was shouting at us to shut up and walk. But umm we were still screaming!! We were all holding on to each other n pushing us way through the narrow stairs and ways. Every 2 mins smthing popped out at us we screamed even louder!! Then came the time when there was a way leading to a row of dead bodies Shawn n I were in the front. We started arguing about who would go first (too scared) n ended up with both of us pushing through at the same time. And hen near the end we were quite freaked out we started shouting at Ashwinth (our lunatic, funny friend) to crack a joke =D. No ghosts reached out to poke us or trip us. I guess they ran away when they heard the noise we were making, Over all it was AWESOME, TOTAL FUN!
Once we got out we went straight to the Mirror Maze which was also amazing fun n we hd to be careful n find the way to keep from bumping our heads on mirrors. After that we became even smaller groups. Me, Mehreen, Josef n Vivek were together n first we headed to a CD shop to buy a CD to dance from the bus. We found a gud 1 as well as clips* for my sister. The boys spend sm time there checking out the cool posters n begging us to buy it for them (They obviously din't want to spend their own money) Specially Josef!!>P After that I treated the three of them 2 “cookies n icecream' icecream n eating that we hangd around the mall teasing, cracking jokes, arguing n having a ROCKING time. We saw a lot of cool stuff in NIKE, PUMA, ADIDAS etc, bt too expensive. We din't buy much compared to the other gang-Shahad, Aisha, Naila, Abid n Krishnapriya, hu raided the supermarket for snacks with 1000 Rs!! Me, Reenu, Vivek n Josef. Had the best fun ever though n later on, Pranav n Govindaby joined us n we searched for a T-shirt for Pranav but didn't find anything. After 3 hrs in the mall we got out where the teachers were waiting n got to know that SHALIQ was missing!! LOL! He just HAD to spend more time on shopping! The idiot! XDXD After that we got in the buses VERY tired n sleepy n headed to the apartment where we were staying for the night. On the way, many parents called n we were telling them about our awsome day. We got out of the bus with our luggage wanting to explore the apartment which truly DID look 5 star!! We went to the big dining room, kept our bags n sat down in chairs for a surprise Magic Show!! I was called to the stage by the magician for a trick to reveal a gold chain hidden in my scarf!! Vijitha ma'am was also called n after the trick we got a certificate!! It was fun! After the show we had dinner chapatti and chicken n then Ravi Sir gave us the keys to our various bedrooms . It was a suite with 2 rooms, a balcony, a dining area n some sofas with a TV!! We were all huddled near the lift waiting for it to come bt it was late n most of us ended up going up the narrow staircase with our heavy bags. 8 of us, Me, Mehreen, Naila, Asha n KrishnaPriya in 1 room, n Megha, Christina n Anjana in one room. We all had a hot shower n went to both our rooms. The 5 of us sat in our room n chatted away!! At 12:00 we had a midnight feast with a LOT of stuff to eat!! chocolates, chips, drinks n lot more. But the 5 of us didn't feel like eating back then!!=O . After that Naila n KrishnaPriya dozed off n me, Reenu n Aysha sat cuddled on the bed chatting n telling ghost stories. We went to the balcony n heard the boys in the above floor laughing n having fun!! We tried to call them but they din't hear us. Then the 3 of us drew mustaches on Naila n Krishna n made them luk awful. The 3 of us slept very less maybe 1 hr and woke up at 7 wid the teachers banging on our door. We packed, dressed n headed down for breakfast. We met with the others n went towards the buses to go to Veegaland. While waiting for the buses, we explored the hotel's garden having a lot of animals. We saw a tiny baby goat!! It was really cute!! This time the 7A boys were in the other bus n the 7 B boys with us!! (if u ask me, 7 B boys r much better n even more fun!! Or maybe that's coz im from 7B) We put the CD I had bought from the mall n started dancing!! Teachers were rocking fun!! It was a awsome time!! Then there was a kind of competition with Sharun n Josef teaching us some of their dance moves n us teaching them. We won (I'm sure they won't agree). At last we reached Veega land!! There were loud cheers as we got off the bus n got our tickets. Once Inside, We changed into our school T-shirts n went off to diff rides. Me, Mehreen, Naila n some of the boys 2gether n we had a lot of fun. For lunch we had hot n yummy biriyani n after that the best time started!! We all headed for the water rides!! wavepools n the rocking water slides!! Then when we grew tired of water we headed for the land rides. First we went to ride which kept moving in circles, very high!! I forgot to feel scared, watching Pranav n Josef screaming their heads off!! Then we went to a ship which kept rocking very fast n ALL of us (especially Pranav, Josef n I) were reely screaming, except Mehreen (but she WAS scared) N then we went to a lot of other rides including the Balarama cave which was super-scary but realy fun!! Then it was back to water. Me, Pranav, Amal n Aysha were separated n we went to a lot of water rides. N once Pranav n I tried to steal popcorn (soo hungry) but we got caught n ran away. The DAY WAS A BLAST!! Everything rocked!! water n the land rides. We got out at 7:00 I guess. Very tired n hungry, We bought snacks n had them from the bus, back to school. From the bus, many of them slept n the rest of us started drawing stuff on their faces!! N Josef n I started sticking labels. (Which we got form Veegaland) with stuff written on them on ppls backs. We stopped for dinner n had chapatti n chicken. Back in the bus we all dozed off dreaming about our awesome tour n woke up at 12:00 when we reached the school. We all slept there till 6:00 am when parents came to take us home. If U are any of us 'IT WAS THE BEST DAYS OF 7TH GRADE' WE HAD AWESOME FUN!!

I love All my awesome friends who I had a BLAST with!

Review of our class Sancharam

-Krishna Valsaraj
VII-B
Roll no: 29

As a matter of fact, all of us were totally out of order, the day before the camp. Teachers explain about anything relevant, or whatever happens we were just lost in our world about the camp coming the following day. I'm pretty sure that none of us would have had a good sleep that night. And finally it was early morning. Though I was feeling drowsy, the though about our camp made me enthusiastic When I reached the school, the majority of our class were already there, We dumped our luggage at the back of the bus. The attendance was taken and VII-A, VII-B girls were in the big bus along with VII-A boys and VII-B boys were in the small. To be honest, though it was 5:45 or some 6'o clock, we left the school and statrted for our destination all of us were too enthusiastic, so we danced and sang in the bus. At 9'o clock, possibly, we got down at Aryaas Hotel, to have our breakfast. It was vada, puri, baaji, chutney and sambhar. I just had 2 vadas with chutney. Then we resumed our journey to the Thripunithara hill palace. We were supposed to be walking barefooted in the palace verandah. As a matter of fact, it was ghastly to walk so. We were fascinated to see the ancient inscriptions and jewellery of the queens in the olden times.
Our next destination was to the beach for our marine trip. We waited for a long time, which felt like ages for our mini ship to arrive to arrive. Alas! It came and we got in. We had our lunch inside the ship. And the guide there explained all the sights as we ate. Then it was time for us to rock the ship! Our class teachers, Vijitha ma'am and Shija ma'am made us thunderstruck by their performance! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. When we were boarding back, we were annoying the teachers by asking when we were* going to Oberon mall, and to our surprise, our next destination was indeed Oberon Mall! Everyone was in a thrill to check out at the* scary house! And suppose if I write about the scary house, papers won't be enough to describe the experience. However, I'll cut shorten it where all the humourous parts take their place to make you laugh. The moment everyone were split into groups and allowed to enter the mall; there was indeed a big commotion. All of us were rapidly climbing on the escalators and finally, mission accomplished! We were in front of the scary house! To be honest. I didn't go due to the fright I had when I saw the elders, adults and all banging the door, screaming and coming out of the exits. Even my friend Rachel didn't go and both of us were laughing by seeing all our mates shouting and coming back. My group members include Ayra, Carol, Deepa , Arya, Rachel, Shipa, Parvathi and myself. Only Rachel and I didn't go, the rest got inside the entry, and hardly 2 minutes would have been over when they came screaming out of the entry door itself!
We then walked and talked and had big and huge fun inside the mall. We reported back at 7 in the evening outside the mall. After that obviously, we started the journey to our apartments. When we reached the apartments, we were taken to the outhouse of the apartments perhaps and had a brilliant magic show there. We also had our dinner from there and Ravi sir read out our groups to which accordingly we should occupy the rooms.
Morning. We had our breakfast and waited for ages for the bus to come. Then to Veega Land! I'm quite sure that all of us truly enjoyed veega land. We got inside the bus at 6:45 to 7 perhaps. All of us were too exhausted to dance. We had our dinner from hotel RUNS. And I think we reached School at 2:30, early morning.

It was indeed a memorable experience! A camp that too going with all our friends, is not quite bad as I expected. Now, a camp only next year, very sad!

A session on Personality Development was held on the 3rd of March at Devagiri CMI Public School. The programme was guided by Dr. Mani Paul, a professional in the orientation process. The class was initially targeted for the class eleventh students; but the students of classes seventh till eleventh joined the session so that the benefits could be vast.
The session mainly focussed on the behavioural pattern of students. The main stress was on the ability to speak in public. Public speaking and communicating skill is something which every person has to master. But those are the areas where students usually fail due to lack of confidence or inner strength. Mani sir trained us on ways to conquer this fear. By the end of the session, students who were earlier reluctant to come up rose and shone* on the stage.
Another area which Mani sir touched upon was listening skill. Listening is something we find difficult to master. We may be hearing but not listening. In order to listen, we need our mind with us. Our physical, intellectual and spiritual sides need to be together if we wish to be a good listener. Only we can control our minds. So it is up to us to sharpen our listening skill.
Listening skill is an important factor in shaping a good student. It's with the ability to listen that the student learns the ability to recollect. Students who find it difficult to grasp information find it difficult to understand.
Education is something which we achieve for our betterment. Our education will benefit only us. So it's our duty to make use of the facilities provided and study with our heart. The disinterest towards studies can be reduced and then made invisible. It can be done by appealing to our conscience to control our unconcient* feeling of negatives, Studying depends on our mind's health. It can be made fun by a little effort.
All the different spheres can be conquered only if we have perfect understanding of oneself. Self-confidence and self-respect are the two main factors that shape an individual. If we know ourselves really well then another's opinion or comments will not affect us. As Sir quoted
'KNOW THY SELF'.

This session certainly helped the students to expand their horizons. The impossible transforming into possible was the main highlight of this session. The very trainer who educated us claimed that he was once a stranger to the stage. It's difficult to imagine him like that as now it seems as if he grew up on the stage!
In today's world, communicative skill is something which is inescapable. The session helped students not only in coping with the current situations, but also on handling their life; The only life they have to make it worthwhile.

My Trip To Kannur...To Vismaya

My trip to Kannur...to Vismaya
Nikita Nayar

Roll No. 36

On 8th february 2011

I left home at 5:45 in the morning. We had to reach at 6:30. We were playing Antakshari first. Then the bus driver put few songs and we danced to them it. Then we got down at Thalassery to eat breakfast. Near the hotel, there was a fort. We went to see the fort. It was beautiful from up there. Many took photos of it. Then when we reached Vismaya, we got onto the land rides. At first, I got onto a ride which* looked like a cup. Then when we sit in it, it turns. Then there is a ride which goes up and down, I didn't think it was scary. But it was, since I am scared of heights. By the time I got down, I felt dizzy and was about to fall. But then I was fine. These were the land rides.
We had to change to get into water rides. There was a ride like a roller coaster that goes through water. Water splashes on us. I got on it twice. We were separated into two groups. I was in Nirmala ma'am's group. It was so much fun. There was a pool where when we get in, we see a place where there are 3 slides. One, a small slide. Second, a bigger slide. Third, a tube slide. We had our lunch at Vismaya. There was a pool called 'Wave pool'. It produced small waves that make us lose our grip. I spent most of my time in that. Then there was this waterfall, we stood under it.
We ate ice-creams and drank cool-drinks. On our way back, we danced to songs. We got stuck for half an hour in an accident. We reached school at 10:30 in the night. It's rare to have trips like this.

Sancharam 2010-2011

It all started in the early morning. After the restless sleep. We reported at the school at 6 am and started off at 6:30. We travelled in a small bus with less-comfortable seatings, no-sound systems and no AC, that's what annoyed us the most while the bigger bus had all these.
We stopped at Trichur after a dizze-travel and had our breakfast. The puri and the vada was was very oily for a breakfast, but fortunately we survived the breakfast! We played a lot inside the bus until we knew that we were heading to the Hill palace of cochi 'raga'. Such a boring place we were like slaves, because we had to climb up a tremendous 114 steps to the palace barefoot! And the amazing thing it that there was CCTV cameras inside the palace that was used by kings in the 18th century, Just Kidding!!
After all the running we got very exhausted. And had to head back to the bus. Anyways, our teachers told us that we were heading to the ship cruise and is going to eat lunch there.
Within half-an-hour we reached there. We walked a few metres and there it was. But unfortunately we had to wait there for a long time cause the ship was being cleaned. After a long wait we got inside we sat in the upper deck. We had our lunch while the ship's crew told us the history of the cochin harbour. After lunch, we danced and sang all three-hours. Then we went to the AC-deck to see the dolphins and to see the ships. After much resting, we saw the harbour nearing. That was done!! The third visit was to the Oberon mall. We were given 1½ hours for spending inside the mall*, we just hurried to the scary house at the top. We had goosebumps even to decide whether to go for it, But I did. We went inside as 12. So I was scared a bit because of the narrow passage and the scary pushing and pulling of my friends. Somebody would get lost if this happened. Even now, I just don't remember how I skimmed* out of the house. Howling with my friends. After that, we went to the mirror maze and then to Rel-time out, but the time was out.* We had to go back to our stay at star homes. There we saw a magic show. And then to our rooms after dinner. It was like, no lights and 7 floors. But we made it to the summit. We slept and had to wake up early at 7 for Veegaland. We really enjoyed it there and we were the last to make it up to the bus, cause we enjoyed it*.
We reached school at 1 am and we left for our home.
A one in a million trip.

A Lesson For Sudheesh

There's a boy named Sudheesh. He is very intelligent. He gets high marks in almost all exams and he completes his notes on time. But, he is a very unfriendly boy. He always engages in a fight with the other boys and does not cooperate with his classmates. He always wants to be the leader and will not accept the ideas of others.
So, one day something happened...
The science teacher gave a group activity. Each team had to choose their own leader. Sudheesh said, “I am going to be the new leader and there is no change in that.” Others knew it was dangerous to argue with him so they promptly agreed. They started doing the work He did not even care to listen to others' ideas and said, “Just keep quiet! I have better ideas than yours!”. When the results came, the teacher asked him “Who did this? This is full of wrong points,” Sudheesh blames it on other members. The others went in person* and told what had happened.
When another activity was given and the leaders were chosen by the teacher herself, he became very angry because he was not one of the leaders. When he tried to do anything he could the others excluded him and said. “You did not allow us to do anything in the last activity, so this time you suffer.”
This opened his eyes. He realized what it was to be left alone when you were doing something together. He also understands that co-operation and team-spirit are needed for the success of a group.

After the incident, Sudheesh became a good member of the team, a good team leader and finally a good friend to all.

He always engages in a fight with the other boys and does not cooperate with his classmates. He always wants to be the leader and will not accept the ideas of others.
So, one day something happened...

The teacher divided the class into many groups and gave them a topic to prepare a chart. Among the last group was Sudheesh. Sudheesh fought with the group for the leadership. But, no one agreed. He became fed up, so he requested that they should write all the points Sudheesh said. The members tried to avoid him and unionized* themselves. The team members prepared the chart without including him. The teacher saw him sitting idle and scolded the team leader for avoiding him. One of the team members told her that “he is not co-operating with us.” So the teacher scolded Sudheesh and lessened his marks. Sudheesh felt very sad. He felt sorry that he did not co-operate with the team. He apologised. He understood the lesson of team spirit. He started mingling with everyone and they became good friends.

After the incident, Sudheesh became a good member of the team, a good team leader and finally a good friend to all.

So, one day something happened...

One day, the Value Education teacher asked the students to do a group activity based on team spirit. The children were split into five groups, others started to do their work peacefully but Sudheesh interrupted saying that he wanted to be the team leader. They were really frightened of him, so they allowed him to be the leader. Then the team members started telling about their opinions but Sudheesh started bullying them and wrote the story on his own opinions.
After two days...
He woke up early, delighted about the results about team work. He dressed up and left to school. When he got the sheet he was very disappointed because they did not receive good marks because he did not ask about the others opinions. He felt very ashamed of himself.
Everyone was surprised because he asked others opinions and got full marks.

After the incident, Sudheesh became a good member of the team, a good team leader and finally a good friend to all.

So, one day something happened...

It was a friday evening. The teacher gave them a group work. Every team had selected their leader. But Sudheesh's team remains. He was fighting with his team members, telling that he wants to be the leader. But nobody agreed with him. At last the team got disturbed by him and they made him as the leader. For doing the group work the needed many materials like a chart, fevicol, sketch pen etc. So Sudheesh told his group members to bring all the materials from the school store. As there was ten groups in the class, there was a big crowd near the store. But they believed that Sudheesh would allow them to do some things in the group work. After some time, they cam back with all the materials needed for the work. All of the group members took the things and started to do the work. But suddenly, Sudheesh said “hay! Who are you to take these things? I am the group leader.” By hearing this they were astonished. They were very sad to hear this. After some time, it was time for the bell. Sudheesh wrote very good points needed for the work. But suddenly, the bell rang. Sudheesh did not complete the work! He was very unhappy and gave the chart to the teacher. Now he thinks if they had helped he would have won.

After the incident, Sudheesh became a good member of the team, a good team leader and finally a good friend to all.

So, one day something happened...

One day, the teacher gave a science group activity. The team and the group leader was chosen. Sudheesh was in group B but he wasn't the leader. Then the teacher said that “the activity is postponed to the next day”. After reaching his home he decided not to co-operate with his team members and he also did not think after not co-operating what will happen to his marks.

The next day he went to his school and his class teacher was absent. At the time, the science teacher came and asked them to do the science activity. As he planned, when his teacher told them to keep quiet and as fast as possible and neat. The teacher told them their topic which is Team Work and Sudheesh didn't co-operate and wasted his time by talking, playing and disturbing other teams. The teacher saw Sudheesh not co-operating and disturbing and she gave a warning to the team.
After the work finished, the group leader complained about Sudheesh to the teacher and Sudheesh's parents were called up. The team which Sudheesh was in got first prize. Then because of the marks he got which was zero. He became a good team member. Moral: Co-operate with others.

After the incident, Sudheesh became a good member of the team, a good team leader and finally a good friend to all.

The Selfish Leader

There's a boy named Sudheesh. He is very intelligent. He gets high marks in almost all exams and he completes his notes on time. But, he is a very unfriendly boy. He always engages in a fight with the other boys and does not cooperate with his classmates. He always wants to be the leader and will not accept the ideas of others.
So, one day something happened...

When he was going to school, he saw his teacher talking about a group work on 'Prehistoric Creatures'. He fought with others for becoming the leader. When his teacher heard about the dispute, she allowed him to be the leader. One of his team members told an idea, he liked it, but he wanted his idea to be applied in the group work. He applied his own idea in the group work and submitted it to his teacher. He wrote only his name.*. In the name of members who contributed for the group work. When his teacher was inspecting their work, she found that only his name was written in the contribution list. She called the whole group including Sudheesh. The members told the teacher that Sudheesh was very selfish on the project and he only wanted the credits.* The teacher was very angry on hearing that a studious boy like him would cheat like this. He got a good scolding from the teacher and was told to apologise towards the other members. Although he got good marks for the group work, he got a black mark on his value list. He was so sad for his members but they convinced him that it was not a serious matter for them.

After the incident, Sudheesh became a good member of the team, a good team leader and finally a good friend to all.

PC Thomas at Thrissur: An Experience of A Lifetime!

April 1 to May 7 2010

Well, to say  this is my story will be totally untrue. It was my dream to get into a prestigious institution like PC-Thomas' Entrance Coaching Centre. Well, I didn't go alone.  I had my 6 friends with me.
Before actually starting this story let me tell you what this story is not about. It's not a guide which will help you get through an insti. On the contrary, it's a story which will tell you how screwed up your vacation could get if you don't think straight. I expect Vishnu, Gokul, Maamu, Kv, Aditya and Sibin, -- all  psychos -- to kill me after they get to know this, but this is my version of the story and all of them cannot write for nuts. So, this is my shot....
After our English board exam, we came to know that we were selected for the one month bridge course along with 600 students from all parts of India and Dubai in PC-Thomas Institute at Trissur. You could tell that we were excited....  Imagine 45 days of pure fun, pure enjoyment, being out of control and beyond all use... that was our dream.
We had seven days after our board exams before we went to PC's. Well to say, we had lots of shopping to do. Seven days went like....boom! It was the first time for me to travel in a train with that psycho friend of mine, Gokul. He is just sweet and you just have to like him -- non-muscular body, stunning specs, pimple-prone face and a cute smile. That was him. Taller than me and fat too. We, along with our family, had set out for the three hours trip to Thrissur . Yeah, the travel went well. We reached the Thrissur railway station 2 km away from the jail (PC's). I had trouble at the railway station because my father was busy calling an auto. So I wondered whether it looked awkward, with Goku's family being silent. Anyway we got an auto and reached a sub centre where we needed to register our names. Aditya (Pallan) was there with his mom and we were later joined by Maamu (Nihal ma), Sibin, Kv, and Vishnu. It was nice to see our parents together.
We were taken to the real jail, Elamturuthi Centre.  Dude! You should have been there. We had a test next morning and the nerds there had already started studying. 'C'mon,' I said. Goku was really angry at those nerds. We got our beds together in the dorm. Vishnu and I were separated by a Thrissur-Praveen. Goku, Sibin and Kv got parallel beds, while Maamu and Aditya got theirs together.
Our parents then left. We were alone for ourselves now. "I thought we could go out!" shouted one of the boys from the non-nerd department. *slap* Augh! The warden had a tough hand! He went weeping. Now I was terrified, Vishnu almost cried while macho-Kv got angry, but could do nothing,  And the food... My god! They gave no value to taste buds.
Then we had to sleep and horror waited for us the next day. . . .

My Appointment

Yesterday I went to the dentist to get a tooth filled.

My mom and I arrived at the place and we waited in the waiting room for our turn. I saw this wait coming, so I took “The Other 99%” with me to prevent me from looking at the other patients. At a point, trading it for the newspaper which my mother was reading, I waited till we were called. Mama told me to go first, the reason for which I don't know. Well anyway, I went.
Those moments waiting for the doctor to come were so nerve-wracking! I would look around, quietly enjoy the texture and softness of the chair, (Which was rather hard, by the way), look at those marvels of science resting on the tray beside me, occasionally turning my attention to my mother, who was standing beside the door, apparently very curious to know how the dentist would fix up this troublesome incisor. The drill from the adjacent cubicle crying away. Things looked bright, I must say.
So it started, the fixing of my tooth. Towards the beginning, the drill was hurting my ears more that my tooth! I closed my eyes, not wanting to see mama's expressions at the situation, or the doctor's eager apprentice taking a look.
So, the time passed. At the end of it, I was handed a mirror to have a look. If it weren't hurting, I would have had trouble figuring out which one was fixed! I was amazed. The dark spot was gone! I managed to spot it, muttering a quiet “Oh!” when I did. That appointment sure was worth it.
Well, since I don't want to scare my fellow Devagirians out of their wits, I've kept it simple. Now, the tooth's fixed.
Just remember, next time you go to the dentist, enjoy the chair, marvel at those instruments which have made the process so painless, (imagine the time when dentists had to use knives instead of drills! Ouch!), think about the book you read in the waiting room and don't wonder what on earth is happening to the little patient inside your mouth.
