A New Academic Year Begins.....

The opening of a new academic year is always an exciting moment. New students, new programmes, new expectations all embarking on an educational adventure.
The most important thing when you are starting out is not to let the nay-sayer steal your dreams. The World is full of such negative people. They have a thousand reasons why your dreams will not work and they are ready to share them with you at the drop of a hat. You just have to believe in your ability and make your dreams come true. For that, you have to love, respect and trust yourself.
The silkworm builds his cocoon with great love and infinite patience. It is a beautiful structure; but the silkworm cannot get out of it and ultimately dies in it. The material world, too, is like a beautiful cocoon. We build it with great affection and imprison ourselves in it without realizing that there are much more beautiful things outside. Let this academic year show us that there are much more beautiful things outside the material world and let this year show us the path to watch the miracles of life.
So friends, remember that you are special, no one can play your role better than you.

I wish you all a very happy academic year.

My Summer Vacation

By: Anvita Sreekanth
Class III B

Another long summer vacation is over and it's back to school again. I am sure you all would have enjoyed your vacation. Well, I am here to tell you how I enjoyed mine.
I feel lucky to have many cousins who visit us every year. This year too was the same. We form a big gang of 9 children.
In the mornings we used to play indoor games like ludo, snakes and ladders and scrabble. In the evenings it used to be badminton, cricket, hide and seek and so many other games. It was so much fun when all of us used to ride our bicycles together.
One day, our parents took us to the Kappad Beach. Oh! It was so much fun. We spent hours playing in the waves. We even built a beautiful sand castle.
Two months were filled with games and laughter. Of course, we used to have our small silly fights but we used to get over it really fast.
I was indeed sad when my cousins left. But we promised to meet during the next summer vacation and have even more fun.
So with all those wonderful memories, I start another year at school. I am sure you all are looking forward for the next vacation. So am I. But before that let's work hard and do well in our studies, so that we can enjoy the vacation better.

This was Anvita's speech in today's Pravesanotsav.

Our Origin

From the advent of time, man has speculated on the nature of his origin and the repercussions governed by his actions during the course of his existence. He has invoked the aid of science and reason to satisfy his almost painful thirst for realization for the same but to no or minimal avail. Though science declaims the initial supernatural perceptions on our origins and declares us the descendants of the ape who in turn came into existence on account of a catalyst of evolutions, the answers seem unsatisfactory almost condescending.Unrelentingly man proceeded to attempt the divination of the purpose of his existence which science hasn't been able to provide a repartee to.

What indeed would be the purpose of our seemingly innocuous existence? Are we merely a subterfuge for our mother earth destined to deprive our fellow organisms of resources? Do we survive to derive sensual and personal pleasures aimed at our own perpetual state of satisfaction? Are we a mere strand in the chain of evolution?A foot hold for progress? Or, do we exist to satisfy a higher purpose to whom every sentient human is an integral part of?

Promotion of Tourism - My English Speech :D

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, teachers and instructors.

I stand before you all on the dais for what will hopefully be a productive oration not just intellectually but rather by berefting the nation of its sole lacuna namely - Poverty - courtesy the development of the tourism sector. Tourism is a potential hoard of foreign invest that the government of India can take refuge in, to evade the inescapable assailant namely economic collapse.Though the government has initiated projects for the ascension of the same, its attempt has been largely futile in uplifting the same. The reason - Innumerable..The cause - Avoidable.

Cleanliness and hygiene are  factors most tourists thrive upon and in this sector the country's progress consistently lags behind, mainly owing to the fact that no law actually inhibits or prohibits the introduction of garbage into the public. Similarly the accommodation is a factor and in this, the country has taken huge strides but the expenses often surpass the ability of the average tourist. Despite the recent developments, consumer protection is yet another vulnerability, with the tourists often rendered frustrated & helpless by the slack customer service, exorbitant prices charged and likewise thus discouraging purchases. The lack of etiquette displayed is a factor which plagues the industry.

Resolving the above by imposing stringent fines on the polluter, enforcing consumer laws, providing decent and affordable accommodation will go a long way in developing tourism and salvaging the much needed foreign exchange for our country.
