A Drawing of Gandhiji

Here is a drawing of Gandhiji on the green board at the school lobby for Independence Day. Can you tell me why he is facing the other way? What do you think is the message of this drawing? Write your answer in the comment box. The student who gives the best answer/message/reflection will be given a gift. ;)

Maybe he doesn't want to look at our face!!
But the real reason is maybe the artist who drew this couldn't recollect the face of him... in short...Gandhiji is now just a part of history he is leaving the new ones to replace his face with ourselves
!!!!!

Making him face backwards could maybe be the artist's suggestion that the answer to surviving and overcoming the trials and tribulations of Today lies in Yesterday - in the history of our nation. Maybe we ought to go back and attempt to relive what Freedom really is. What it can mean to a suppressed people. It might only be then that we appreciate what we have and hence try to go about setting ourselves free. If we can attempt to feel what the martyrs of our country did as they lay down their lives for their country, then maybe, just maybe we can redefine freedom for our generation too.

He wants us to turn i.e. see around and work for the country's prosperity instead of staring at him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

or maybe he has turned around because he realized , after giving his all for our country he is finally satisfied , and understood that the legacy he left behind is continuing on in the hearts of millions .
He turned around for he knows a fire has been lit within each of us , a fire which will RISE ! (eventually)
and become
India's Reckoning !

I think it's because he's leading us. If someone's leading you, you only see their back. Like that, even after so long, Gandhiji's life still inspires us and leads us to do great things. We're not looking at any man's back, we're looking at the back of a leader.
"If you love your country and would do anything for its freedom, Follow me. I will lead you." something like that.
