Rising To New Heights

It's the first time I'm blogging and I'm not really sure what to say....but I'd just like to thank Mellanie ma'am for getting me to start...I don't have any particular topic for this one but I guess I'll just give it a shot............

Things seem to be drawing to a close, but for so many of us, it's a whole new beginning, a whole new start, an opportunity to reach for our dreams. And as we stride away into our futures, it is with the knowledge that this is our chance to prove ourselves to anybody who ever doubted us, those who say that we turn our backs and walk away. What lies ahead of us is still a question mark, but that is exactly what beckons us forward. It maybe an unfamiliar path but it is our search to find out who we really are.

Different people try to tell us what to do and that is exactly what we are trying to get away from...to have a moment to ourselves - just a moment of silence - to think for ourselves for once, to follow our hearts. But the risks involved in blindly following our hearts are numerous... and we all choose the safer path.

It may not be the smartest thing to do, but sometimes following our hearts is all we can do . It's not about not being practical or not having a proper plan or not being responsible. It's about being happy. Mistakes are inevitable. But that's the thing about life. Before we know it, we've learnt our lesson and everybody else has already moved on. At least we can look back on that mistake and tell ourselves that we've learnt something new instead of blaming someone else. Keep making mistakes because nothing is permanent and we won't have to guess whether something is for us or not. We'll know for sure. If it is fear that is holding us back, don't let it; because if we have the courage to take the first few steps, even mountains are nothing before us.

So I say, take a deep breath, take our time and be our own guide. Sacrifices have to be made, but as the saying goes, "no pain, no gain". Never let anybody get us down. Remind ourselves that there is always someone to catch us when we fall, to cheer us on no matter what, because that is how special we are. Never be anyone but ourselves and take life as it comes with a smile.

But most importantly, never lose sight of what's really important, because the moment we do, we lose ourselves. So get out there, and start hunting.
And me? I'm in search of happiness.

I remember a poem I wrote which revolved around this thought. I will share it soon and I will dedicate it to you. :)

"It's not about not being practical or not having a proper plan or not being responsible. It's about being happy."

I add: It's all about being true to oneself. It is all about self-fulfillment, having a meaningful and purposeful life. It is all about living and not just existing.

"But most importantly, never lose sight of what's really important, because the moment we do, we lose ourselves."

Yes and the self is the only thing we have. If we lose it, then we would have nothing for ourselves and we have nothing to give to others!

You have good thoughts. Keep them safe.

Unfortunately Namitha happiness is so elusive.May be we are going about the wrong way trying to achieve it.May be it is about being practical, being responsible, about actually doing things others like.May be it is about slipping into silent obscurity .May be it about letting others follow their dream ......May be it is not about..........'me'.Hope you find true happiness child.

Good work Namitha! :) And i don't think searching for happiness is a good option.. because its a waste of time..do what you love and happiness would follow..just think about it and accept what "you" feel is right..! :)
