Nature's Show

By: Vidhya Vinod Kumar,

The wind caresses my fragile skin
Making it feel all pale and weak
And the sun glowers overhead
With its mighty light, enriching us
With love, lust and life.
The plants sway
To the song sung by the wind
And the birds are chirping
As if auditioning
To get a chance
As a singer or at least a rookie
To the forest’s music.
The still water stays calm.
As if to show the world
That it is the natural mirror,
A mirror of thoughts and emotions.
Sudden ripples form on the glass water
And the land above quirks and squeaks
But almost at once it quiets down
And not a sound can be heard
Other than my beating heart.
There goes a bird,
Flying like it’s the best.
And there goes a squirrel
Scurrying back home for dinner.
And as I watch this stage show
Arranged by none and performed by all.
I believe that the world will never change
And that this stage show will go on forever
